Correcting Dimensions on General Journal Entries

In this scenario, we will review how to correct a general journal that has been posted with incorrect Dimension values (will also work if the transaction was posted with no dimension values and need to add one).
To correct a journal entry, locate the entry in the General Ledger Entries Page. You can search for the document number using the search bar in the ribbon.
In this example, the document number GB00001 has the Department Code and Customergroup Code assigned to the entry.

To correct the dimensions, select all entries that need to be changed -> Entry  -> Correct Dimension

The Draft Dimension Correct Page will open.
In the description field, you can note why this change is being made.

  1. Dimension Code- The Dimension you are altering
  2. Dimension Value Code- The current code that is assigned to the entries
  3. New Dimension Value Code- What you are changing the entry

Once the lines are filled out, select the Run

The Run Dimension Correction page will appear.  You can either chose to “Run Immediately” with the Boolean or schedule the change to run later. In this example, we will run it immediately. Select Okay.

Refresh your browser. The changes to the dimensions will now be reflected in the General Ledger Entries.

You can review the changes made to entries.
Select the entry that you want to see the dimension history for -> Entry -> History of Dimension Correction

Select Manage -> View

You can now see the changes that you have previously made.
